At Boxwood Lane Creative, we design weddings and celebrations with intention—experiences that are deeply personal, visually compelling, and impeccably executed.
Our passion for weddings began in the 1990s while working alongside Vera Wang in Manhattan, during a moment when the wedding industry was being redefined. Her visionary approach—extending beyond the dress to the entire celebration—shaped our belief that weddings are not simply planned, but curated.
(We proudly acknowledge the equally transformative influence of Martha Stewart also.)

FEATURED PROJECTS
Grace + Jimmy
Grace, a design associate at a firm in DC and her mom Liza, a contemporary artist, both had complimentary visions for Grace and Jimmy’s wedding celebration this past summer. A bright orange and white print textile featuring mom’s own artwork balanced the bride’s preferred palette of orange, yellow and lavender- all of which provided an explosive backdrop of color for their special weekend.
Bridesmaids dresses followed the same suite of color, florals of course did too. Every touch point was thoughtfully curated to create a lifetime of memories.
Our top 5 faves included:
1) Bright yellow tissue paper envelope liners
2) Custom matchboxes that included a picture of the lucky couple from high school
3) Fried Philly cheesesteak egg rolls
4) Converting an art print into custom table cloths
5) Creating a custom ice cream shroud to give off the vibe of a European ice cream cart
Julia + Emmett
Our couples are all so different…and it is the creative challenges presented to us by our unique couples that make our socks go up and down!
Julia and Emmett were no different. Their wedding date – on the Summer Solstice- inspired a lot of the special touches throughout their weekend. We can’t begin to do this caption justice- especially when it is about our bride Julia who is actually a writer by trade.
Our top 5 (maybe 10!) favorite things from this wedding:
1) Julia’s vintage Dior gown
2) Miles of paper chains hand made by Emmett’s family to use as decoration in the tent
3) Father of the bride’s need for Labatt’s (iykyk–if you are from Buffalo – y definitely k!)
4) A butter yellow, cream, chartreuse, with a hint of pink… palette
5) Phony Negronis + Aperol Spritzes
6) Sister of the bride’s homemade tart (instead of the traditional wedding cake)
7) The flowers- cow parsley mixed with terra cotta and vintage silver – never looked so good!
8) Ombre silk ribbon accents
9) Mother of the bride- and all of her friends!
10) Wedding marches through the neighborhood
Scarlett + Charles
Young and in love, Charles and Scarlett met in high school and never looked back. The father of the bride told us at the end it was the best party he had ever been to.
This wedding took place at their home in their yard under a tent in early August. Some might call this timing “the dog days of Summer.” (it was). At 3pm the temperatures were sitting at 95 degrees and of course the rains came down late in the day just as the festivities were beginning. Thankfully, we had a solid rain plan in place, and everything went off without a hitch. And the pouring rains didn’t stop anyone from having any fun!
Our favorite things about this wedding:
1) Scarlett’s hand lettering for all of the printed pieces
2) Serving McDonald’s at the after party
3) Setting up tents in the yard for “glamping options,” in addition to the customary hotels
4) Hosting a tattoo artist in the vendor mix as an “activation” for guests
5) Scarlett’s white cotton eyelet shirt dress paired with red patent round toe shoes for the ceremony which she removed for the reception and out from under the dress came her cream silk shantung hot pants and matching bustier with tulle skirt overlay- same shoes!
6) The bride’s bouquet made by Cold Spring Floral
7) The food was amazing- by Hoopla!
8) The cloudy, rainy weather made for amazing light for the photographer, and in the end, made for great pictures- Thank you Genevieve Huba!
